OPERATIONS MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES OF EMPLOYMENT

POSITION TITLE: OPERATIONS MANAGER

LOCATION: KAMPOT (with occasional travel to Phnom Penh)

CONTRACT TYPE:  FT (renewable), after 3-month trial 5 days per week

HOURS: 8am-5pm

SALARY: Commensurate with experience, with benefits

REPORTS TO: MANAGING DIRECTOR

The Operations Manager will ensure that Dorsu product, processes and work environment are at the highest standard both in production and retail. Through managing operational systems for sales, retail, logistics, and customer service, the Operations Manager will focus on ensuring smooth and effective daily coordination across all departments.

Direct managerial responsibilities include: overseeing premises, production, and inventory allocation and warehousing. Working closely with Dorsu’s MD, Production Manager and HR Officer, the Operations Manager will track and communicate progress on all of Dorsu’s projects highlighting challenges and assessing opportunities where appropriate.

While overseeing the company departments the Operations Manager will perform tasks to coordinate suppliers and service providers related to production and distribution such as co-ordinating screen-printing and shipping & logistics, when needed.

Designed to the applicant’s experience and the company’s current need, this role will also incorporate sharing sales and client management and customer service responsibilities with the Managing Director.

As Dorsu grows there is opportunity to drive new projects and initiatives in alignment with business and organizational objectives.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily team & production management
● Daily all-hands meeting
● Management of operations budget in all departments
● Human Resource Management using HR system and company handbook
● Staff performance review management in partnership with owners
● Oversee team training and growth plan
● Company systems and policies development, review and renewal
● Recruitment and induction
● Finance security processes (banking, budget confirmations)
Production studio management using developed operation systems for
● Safe & efficient production
● Shipping
● Cleaning, repairs and maintenance
● Safety policies and procedures

DESIGN AND PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

This includes, but is not exclusive to:
● Leading product development meetings, with design ideas and technical notes.
● Sample making, technical sketches, tech packs
● Collection launch deadlines set and managed
Raw Material Management
This includes, but is not exclusive to:
● Overseeing and approving the purchase of all raw materials
● Tracking raw material stock levels to ensure no production is ever disrupted by
missing materials
● Managing raw material storage to ensure it is clean, and in a suitable condition
Production Communication
This includes, but is not exclusive to:
● Planning, measurement and allocation of manufacturing of garments
● Providing clear, reliable production deadlines for both Dorsu label and external
orders
● Updating Tech Packs for all garments; maintaining samples and fabric swatches
● Coordinating with the screen printer, to ensure printed orders are completed in a
clear and timely manner
The OM will be expected to suggest ideas for Improving efficiencies and tweaking
systems as they become more familiar with our company.

Required Skills & Experience
● Career experience in apparel manufacturing, product development; similar or related fields or experience will be considered based on relevance to stated objectives
● Cross-cultural work experience and interest in coaching and building capacity
